The Concert Hall of Thessaloniki is built along the coast of the city in an area of 18.000m2. The total length of the building is 108m, while the width is 45m and the highest point reaches 26.5m. The covered area is 5.090m2 and the total area of the building is 26.600m2 developed on 9 floors. It includes a large concert and multi-purpose hall for 1.475 spectators, as well as all necessary auxiliary areas both for the audience and the performers. It also includes spaces for the technical support services.
The building can accommodate music and theatrical performances such as drama, concerts, oratoria, operas, ballet as well as conventions, exhibitions and other events.
Because of the short distance of the building from the sea, and the particularities of the ground (embankments), a special foundation was constructed, employing 403 shaftpiles with a diameter of 1.0m, 39m deep from ground level. The bearing structure is from reinforced concrete, whereas the roof of the Main Hall consists of metal trusses.

The building has been designed according to the maximum seismic protection limits, provided in international regulations. The installations and automations are according to the highest standards. Even more, using the sea water for heating and cooling, a considerable power saving is achieved.
